Q. What is Pitchstor?

Pitchstor is a digital funding mechanism and an online global network that helps you raise funds for your project, startup or company. Every campaign should have a clear vision and a perspective of realistic goals in order to attract funds from backers. Pitchstor does not allow certain types of campaigns to fundraise on the platform. Before you launch a campaign please check our rules.

Q. What is a crowdfunding campaign?

A project, a startup or a company with a clear vision and a set of goals can launch a crowdfunding campaign in order to start raising funds online from backers. A campaign owner, who wants to raise funds online with crowdfunding, has to set a funding goal or in other words, the amount of money that he/she needs to receive, while at the same time, has to create an appealing campaign which will attract the interest of backers.

Q. Which are the funding methods available?

Fundraising on Pitchstor depends upon two models:
All or nothing:
Means that you only receive funds if your campaign is successfully completed by the date it expires. This method is best for projects or startups that need to reach a target and carry out with their aims. Having a successful campaign in hand gives you an access to further funding, if necessary, and is a very useful proof of concept.

Keep it all:
Means that you keep all the funds raised by backers, whether your project hits the target or not. In any case, your backers have to take in return the rewards no matter how much or little is pledged.

Q. Do I need to offer rewards?

Pitchstor is a reward and donation based crowdfunding platform, so it is not essential for you to offer a reward. However, we strongly recommend you to offer rewards that have to do with your project in order to give your backers an extra motivation and keep them engaged until the last day. Is more likely for backers to support a campaign that offers a reward back and  this can be your asset  in exchange for more funds.

Q. Where do backers come from?

The majority of your backers come from fans and friends through your social media profiles. So, do not lose time and invite all your digital community on Pitchstor's platform. Let them know about your campaign, share your project and ask for their comments. Start to interact with your backers as soon as possible and watch you campaign skyrocket. Furthermore, the backers who will find your campaign interesting, will share it as well to their own social media accounts, creating more awareness and inviting more backers. The effects are viral, as the more people see your campaign, the more they learn about you and maximize your potential of raising funds through crowdfunding.

Q. Do you recommend connecting with Facebook or LinkedIn?

Yes, we absolutely do! It's a simple way for anyone to login to Pitchstor.

If you're a campaigner, it's a great way to let backers know a little bit more about you. It's an easy way to show backers who you are and what your background is. You may also edit the privacy settings of your Facebook or LinkedIn account to control what your guests see

Q. What are your fees?

All or nothing:

If a project does not reach its goal, Pitchstor does not charge any fees. But, if a project is successfully funded, Pitchstor applies a 6%  ( +VAT)  fee.

PayPal : -3.4% + €0.35 fee - charged when pledge payments arrive in your PayPal account.

Fees on overseas payments may vary.

Keep it all:

If a project keeps all the funds collected until the last date, then Pitchstor applies a 6% fee and PayPal: 3.4% + €0.35 fee.

Q. Can Pitchstor refund the money if a project is unable to fulfill ?

No, Pitchstor doesn't  issue refunds. Transactions are between backers and creators directly.

Q. Does Pitchstor ascertain a campaign or owner’s claim?

Pitchstor does not ascertain a campaign’s or owner’s claims. All claims and responsibilities of each project are its owner’s. People decide a project’s legitimacy or worthiness and decide whether they want to make a contribute or not.

Q. Do I have a realistic target?

Having a realistic target is important - as we want every project to be a success. Think about the minimum you need to make your project happen, you can always increase your target once you hit your first goal and start overfunding. Last but not least, remember that backers are afraid of seeing big targets that potentially won't reach their funding goal.

Q. Who are the payment providers?

Currently, we are working with 1 payment provider - PayPal.
